  • ATV/ORV: Watch out!  atvThe growing sport of ATV/ORV is coming to Wyoming! Hundreds of accessible trails are Available throughout the Sublette County & Wind River Mountain Range Area.  Both the novice, and the more seasoned rider will find trails unparalleled scenery to suit them.

 

 

 

  • SKIING & SNOWBOARDING: (2) triple Chair Lifts, 25 (+) Trails, 25% Beginner, 45% Intermediate, 30% Advanced, ski1Vertical Drop: 1,000 ft. (9,500 to 8,400)

  • SNOWMOBILING: Snowmobiling season typically runds from mid-December until April.  The Continental Divide Snowmobile Trail goes right through Pinedale, where complete services of lodging, Dining, repairs and fuel are available. The Wind River Mountains have an extensive trail system with more than 250 miles of groomed and marked trails.  The Upper Green River Area is a popular riding area with Uncrowded trails and snowmobilespectacular scenery. Because of the high location on the Continental Divide, sometimes more than 13,000 feet, snow depths range from 5-10 feet.  The Wyoming Range has more than 330 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and thousands of acres of off-trail riding areas.  Snow machine and trailer rentals are available in Pinedale.

 

 

 

  • GOLF: Rendezvous Meadows is located on the west end of Pinedale. golf It offers an 18 hole course complete with Pro-shop, lounge, Practice Green, and Driving Range.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • ROCK CLIMBING: rockclimbingThe Rockies of Western Wyoming offer all levels of rock climbing challenges, from simple bouldering along the lower ridges, to extended assaults on high mountain peaks! The Cirque of the Towers, located in the Big Sandy area at the south end of the Wind River Range is perhaps the best known in the state. Lizard's Head, Shark's Nose, and the Watchtower are also very popular spots.

 

 

 

 

  • MOUNTAIN BIKING: Near Pinedale bikingthere are numerous trails to explore. The climb to Half Moon Mountain is for those who enjoy the feeling of "Not having enough oxygen in the Brain." For the people who also enjoy other "feelings", a bike/hike can be made, up the mountain. The view from the south ridge can be ridden almost the total length. Below the ridge is a sagebrush park that also spans the length of the mountain. This parkland has many trails to ride.

  • FISHING: If you like to fish, you’ll love Sublette County!  We are at the headwaters of the Green River, famous for fantastic float and trout fly fishing.  Major lakes in our area include the 11-mile long Fremont Lake and Green River Lakes.  fishingThe two nearby wilderness areas offer incredible alpine lake fishing experiences.  There are hundreds of other lakes and streams for your fishing enjoyment. They are un-crowded and offer tremendous sport fishing opportunities.  A Wyoming fishing license is required to fish area lakes and streams.

 

 

  • HIKING: hikingSublette County has hundreds of miles of hiking and backpacking trails.  Backcountry trails offer access to the Wind River Mountain Range and Jim Bridger Wilderness, the Gros Ventre Wilderness Area, and along the Wyoming Range. Trailheads are often located near campgrounds, some are very remote.  The major trailheads into the Jim Bridger Wilderness area of the Wind River Mountains have corrals and parking areas for horses and trailers.

 

 

  • CAMPING: Sublette County is over 80% public land.  campingThe Bridger-Teton National Forest and Bureau of Land Management are the primary government Agencies managing the bulk of the public land in the county.  Both agencies have developed recreation campgrounds and designated areas that offer virtually unlimited opportunities for camping and outdoor recreation.
